“Don’t forget, we’re the bad guys”

Rejoice! for the villains are here to save the day. Last night at the MTV Movie awards, WARNER BROS released the third trailer for their upcoming adaptation of the comic book “SUICIDE SQUAD”, the third installment of the DC Extended Universe and the first film to follow “BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE”.

Suicide Squad revolves around a group of convicted criminals and super villains who are recruited and forced to participate in covert “Suicide Missions” for the U.S Government by Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) and Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman) and with remote control explosives embedded in their necks, the Suicide Squad have to defy the odds to survive.

This trailer, set to the tunes of “You Don’t Own Me” by Grace and “The Ballroom Blitz” by Sweet, does nothing but assure my confidence in this film. This trailer has a dynamic rhythm, keeping you entertained, fascinated and excited the whole way through. For the third trailer, story elements still remain unclear, the mission of the Suicide Squad still unknown but what we do know is that this film will be an action packed thrill ride.

Focusing on its humour, action and character relationships, this trailer showcases nothing but it’s strengths. The characters are fun and exciting, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn and Will Smith as Deadshot bring the laughs and the action along with new footage of characters Captain Boomerang, El Diablo, Amanda Waller, Killer Croc and Katana. Each character getting their own great moment in this momentous trailer.

The two most familiar elements of the trailer and this film of course is Batman and The Joker. Ben Affleck’s terrific portrayal of Batman is teased in quick shots and with every new piece of footage Jared Leto becomes more terrifying as the Clown Prince of Crime. Director David Ayer blends action, humour and horror with every shot, so stop reading this and start watching that trailer, get HYPED!
