2016 will probably be the year that video game movies finally kick off, we’ll see the results of Warcraft in a few weeks but I think we have a sure fire winner here. The team behind the magnificent 2015 Macbeth is reuniting for an adaptation of the historical fantasy of Assassin’s Creed. Michael Fassbender plays a character who is needed to live out the past of his ancestors and that ancestor is an assassin living during the Spanish Inquisition.

The film looks gorgeous and that should come as no surprise when Adam Arkpaw is the cinematographer of your film. Immediately you can see a visual distinction between past and present and cinematic interpretations of Assassin’s Creed iconography such as the wrist blades and the leap of faith. The trailer also teases some of epic action sequences in the film, director Justin Kurzel directed incredible battles in Macbeth and it looks life he’s upping the game with this one.

Now some people will probably have issue with Kayne West music playing in the trailer but it doesn’t detract from how awesome the visuals are. Song or not, I have 100% faith in Kurzel, Arkpaw and Fassbender so don’t let song choice wreck your expectations for this film.

Overall epic and awesome, this trailer makes me want to see this film immediately.

Get Hyped.
